Casing insulator - as the name suggests, insulates the oil/gas carrying pipeline from the casing pipeline. Especially at the road or rail crossing over the oil pipeline, a casing pipe is provided to prevent any shock or load to act on the pipeline. The casing pipe which annularly covers the carrier pipe should not touch it, i. E. Both of them should be isolated. For that plastic - moulded part called casing insulator is used. Casing insulators are generally two or multi segmented according to the combination of carrier & casing pipes. Casing insulators are generally made out of high density polythene, it is also available in frp. Casing insulator can be assembled at site simple with screw drivers and spanners.
